
Math Placement Test Preparation
There are many options available to help prepare for the math placement test. They are:
- The Mathematics and Statistics Department website has a math refresher webpage with sample problems and their solution process. The webpage provides problems beginning at math 0900 and continuing through math 1220. Click here to visit the Math Refresher website.
- The Mathematics and Statistics Department offers a course entitled Math 0920, Math Skills Review. This four day course gives students a chance to review materials necessary to be successful in college level mathematics and statistics courses. This is a non-credit course and no grade will appear on the student's official USU transcript. There is a fee for the course that includes the cost of instruction, and taking the Math Placement Test both before and after the four day course. The Math Placement Test taken before Math 0920 begins, will allow students the opportunity to assess their math skill level and to enter the refresher course at an appropriate level. - Utah State University Brigham City has experienced, capable math tutors. Tutoring is conducted in Room #118 of the USU Brigham City campus. Click here, for the current math tutoring schedule. This schedule is also posted on campus bulletin boards and at Room #118. Tutoring is conducted both morning and evening to accommodate a variety of student schedules. Currently, no appointments are necessary — just visit the tutoring lab.
- On the Internet, you can find numerous online math tutorials by putting "math tutorials" in the search box.
- Math tutorials, which provide an in-depth review of basic math through trigonometry and calculus, are available for purchase at many bookstores.
