Jill Rasmussen Joins USU Brigham City

Director of Student Services

Ms. Jill Rasmussen recently joined the staff at the Utah State University Brigham City campus as the Director of Student Services. In this position she will coordinate student services such as advising, career counseling, enrollment management, recruitment, student leadership, grant writing, social and cultural events, tutoring, new programs, public relations, recreation, and student council. “It is wonderful to see the community support for the University in Brigham City and the Tremonton classes. With enrollments growing and new programs being added, we need to look at the services we offer now and need to provide for our students in the future,” said Ms. Rasmussen.

She moved to Utah from the American University in Bulgaria where she was the Assistant Dean of Students and Director of Campus Living. She also has worked for the State University of New York in Oswego, and Brigham Young University. Her background includes employment in Residence Life and Housing, Student Services, Alumni Association (Aspen Grove Family Camp), American Red Cross, and Youth and Family Programs (Director of “Especially for Youth”).

Rasmussen commented, “After living in Eastern Europe for nine years, I will be going through cultural changes, but I look forward to establishing my life here, and sharing and serving in the community and getting to know our students.”

She received her Masters in Recreation Management and Youth Leadership from Brigham Young University, and her Bachelor Degree in Child Development and Family Relations.

Rasmussen was born and raised in California, but her family now lives in Utah and Idaho. With an interest in family history, she is excited to learn more about the areas, where her grandparents once lived.
